Setting up two-factor authentication

Updated April 21, 2026

Two-factor authentication adds a second check — a one-time code from an authenticator app — on top of your password. Strongly recommended for admins, schedulers, and anyone whose account handles financial or worker data.

Setting it up

  1. Account Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication.
  2. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app:
    • 1Password, Authy, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Duo all work.
  3. Enter the 6-digit code the app shows you to confirm.
  4. Save your backup codes. You get 10 one-time-use codes. Print them, store them in a password manager, tape them to the inside of a filing cabinet — anywhere except on the same device as your authenticator.

Signing in with 2FA

After entering your email and password, CrewCall asks for the 6-digit code from your authenticator. New codes regenerate every 30 seconds.

Lost your authenticator?

Use a backup code. If you're out of backup codes, email support@crew-call.net — we verify your identity out-of-band before resetting MFA.

Disabling MFA

Possible from the same settings page. Requires your current password. We strongly recommend keeping MFA enabled once it's set up.
